Welcome to Cate’s Classes
My name is Cate Robbins. I am a graduate of Texas Woman’s University with both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in painting. I have taught children’s and adult art classes in both classroom and semi private settings for over 25 years. My philosophy of art education is based upon academic standards that are centuries old. I teach foundational skills as preparation for all forms of artistic expression. I teach color theory and painting techniques in oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel pencils. Drawing instruction utilizes graphite, charcoal and pen. I have taught Drawing 1, 2-D Design and Watercolor at Collin College as an Associate Professor in the Visual Art Department at the Spring Creek Campus.
I am currently accepting new students ages 6th grade - adult, all experience levels in at the McKinney Arthouse in McKinney, Texas.
